API view not working for requests that need authorisation #1507

The API view returns a 401 error when trying to use API calls that need authorisation, even if there is an authorised session.
this can be reproduced on the demo1 instance: https://demo1.librephotos.com/api/photos/searchlist/?search=gold%20course
