Joystick required for min throttle to takeoff #2

It looks like a joystick is required to takeoff. I am not sure if that is an Xplane limitation or something in the plugin. Normally in sitl for gazebo you can arm, takeoff, and land with no manual control input. Attempting to takeoff without a gamepad/joystick in Xplane using the plugin the rotors move but don't reach min throttle for takeoff.

try setting this parameter to ignore rc inputs and see if it works

you are using a Fixed wing or multirotor?

Fixed wing. I’d like to start in air with enough throttle so as not to stall. The drone model is hand launch so can’t use runway takeoff

did you try changing the initial velocity from xplane? hit 'm' and from map click on your drone ten set altitude and speed and pitch and see it it works
before that put your drone in arm and take of flight mode then pause and then do it...
its just my guess and random idea:) not sure if it works for your case
