Record / playback energy usage pattern

So for ex my dishwasher is 'smart' enough to know that it's, what program is running and such; but too dumb to know it's own power usage.
My Q is: if I record it's power usage using a smart socket (like a Shelly) for each type of cycle.. Could that then be 'played back' ?

Could be an interesting feature.

It's a nice idea. But let's see if it is feasible without creating too much complication.

Ah ok, it are separate entities.
Maybe something like this. Quite similar approach as daily_fixed_energy.

Not sure about the naming of things yet, and exact structure.

Then this will create an energy sensor sensor.vaatwasser_apotheek_energy
When sensor.vaatwasser_apotheek_program_intensiv_70 transitions from on to off it will add 0.8 kWh to the energy sensor.

Instead of defining name I will also allow to define entity_id instead. Then we can pick the name from that and also add the energy sensor to the same device.

We could also support templates in on and off to support al kind of cases, and entity_id can be optional.

I use NFC tags on my dishwasher and washing machine, when I scan them a set amount of energy is added to a total using a couple of template sensors. Something like what you are proposing here would greatly simplify my setup.

Just gave this another thought and came up with the following solution.
I can implement a service to increase the daily energy sensor with a given amount of kWh.
Than you can just call this service from an automation, and utilize all the trigger/condition possibilities of that. Otherwise I am reinventing the wheel adding all these kind of complicated configurations.

So you would define a daily fixed energy sensor like this or with the GUI

sensor:
  - platform: powercalc
    name: Dishwasher
    daily_fixed_energy:
      value: 0

And than create an automation to listen for the NFC tag and just call the service.

service: powercalc.daily_energy_increase
data:
  value: 0.6
target:
  entity_id: sensor.my_energy

Maybe daily energy should be renamed to something more generic as it's multipurpose, but that would maybe be a future improvement.

This would be perfect, especially since I have different tags for different cycles, meaning those cycles are added to the same total.
