Service to set sensor data

Would be nice with a service to set/update sensors, in case of

• wrong values/need to be corrected
• set a starting point of a new sensor (in case I know this device has consumed XX kWh before I configured it)

Maybe with an option to decide if a parent group also should be updated or not

service is powercalc.calibrate_energy

When you calibrate an individual sensor for example from 50 to 200 all groups will be increased by 150 as well.

You can also use the same service to calibrate the whole group sensor, or the daily fixed energy sensors.

Looking at the error message I am quite certain you are not on latest master yet.
You are sure you are calling powercalc.calibrate_energy and not powercalc.calibrate_utility_meter?

Of course you are correct, seems like it failed to switch to master when I had the update for 1.6.2 waiting for update as well

Now I can set the value, if I update one entity, it will update the group(s) it belongs to as well (both main and child groups, like: outdoor_lights->garage->garage_front_bulb)

But if I update a group, take garage in the example above, it will update that garage group entity but not the one above (outdoor_lights)

Yes that's correct behaviour, as each group only consists of all the individual member entities. Groups do not have a parent/child relation or any association to eachother in that sense. So that's also something which I won't implement.
When you calibrate calibrate an energy entity it will trigger a state update, and all the group sensors listen to that, same as normal state updates. So that's why it works "out of the box" for the individual energy sensor -> groups.
