How to see a leaderboard of users by edit count similar to this now inactive table or see a user's rank of that? One would expect it since this issue was closed and now I don't know if the edit count is used at all (not that it is a good metric) and as far as I can see it can't display the number of edits.
How are Achievement ranks calculated? Is there a way to configure it? Maybe at some point one could have the leaderboard prioritize images used and in specific images used on Wikipedia, not just on some Wikidata items or Wikibooks that nobody reads.
Some potential suggestions for the Commons app depend on these questions.
It would be great if once things have improved there is a bot/script that creates some pages on Wikimedia Commons so people on desktop can also see these leaderboards and to have a web UI for the API as discussed here. That would be a new issue at the commons app repo I guess if at all since it's only about making something available in the app also available on desktop.
Lastly, it would be better if it displayed more things like, for example, number of files uploaded, number of uploaded files used on Wikipedia, number of used self-created files, total pageviews of the user's created categories, etc as well as the number of edits per user. Please let me know if there are any issues about these things.

Thank you for opening this @prototyperspective ! The documentation revolving leaderboard is indeed sparse unfortunately. That said there are other documents in the API folder which you may wish to check out.
As to whether edit count is used or not, I do not suppose the same is used for the rank calculation of the leaderboard as it primarily focused on the upload related metrics.

Thank you for the suggestion.

It would certainly be better if you could open an issue about this in the app's repo as that is a better place to track the same and it would get better visibility that this issue tracker :-)
The documentation on the leaderboard needs to be improved. What does "upload or used or nearby" mean?
