I would just be a nice feature that saves a few seconds every time you log in the editor, so you don't have to go to project > version control > version control settings > password every single time, and instead we could just be prompted for our password every time we push/pull for the first time every log in. And if a user somehow doesn't have a password on their server (not even sure if there are servers that let you do that?) then there can be a checkbox that says "No password", which would make the pop up never show.
