Easy way to copy room link #986
Comments
ah, the left sidebar. I always looked at the "..." menu at the top of the chat. If you have a lot of chats in the left sidebar it is often a bit hard to quickly find the right one. If you are in a chat/call I think the top menu is the more obvious one. Maybe something to consider? |
@nimishavijay What do you think? Should we add more options to the top bar menu? |
We had it there in the past iirc. During the call the menu grows too much and then it was removed again at some point. You can still copy it in the left sidebar. In the browser the browser bar is a much more straight-forward option. |
Hmm, I would agree with both points, that the top bar menu is a good place and that it is already crowded. Some solutions I can think of:

When sharing a room link, e.g. in a calendar invite, mail or other chat I can simply copy&paste the address bar in the browser. This obviously doesn't work in the desktop client.
I find it quite complicated to first go to the "..."-menu, to settings and than search in the relatively large dialog for the link. I think for the desktop client it would be a huge improvement if the "..."-menu would directly contain a entry "room link"
