How do I go about installing the data importer on truenas scale?

I've been looking far and wide and I cannot find working instructions to install the data importer on truenas scale. The firefly app by itself has a very nice and easy app installation in the discover page. Is there a neat and easy way to install the data importer on truenas? and this may be a dumb question, but why does the truenas application not simply come with the data importer installed to begin with (maybe as an option during instalation?)
