Communications Workstream Meeting - 1/15/2025

Workstream member OOO timelines:

• Jaxon: none at the moment
• Anuja: estimated ~4 months, ending June/July
• Antal: in same time zone until end of May

First community meeting date and topic brainstorm:

• Date: February 25th, Tuesday 9AM
• Topic: Shiny apps and validation of the packages used for them
• Meeting lead: TBD

Looking at our December meeting ideas for 2025 and picking some to begin with:

• Company-specific outreach to be brought up at the next executive meeting
• Focus group meetings as an extension of Dev Day from last year; check with Doug on how that went and whether having a "part 2" of sorts would be beneficial
• User stories based on input at focus groups (subject to permission) to highlight people's experiences on the website

@antalmartinecz - Can you add more details about your move schedule above (whether you're still working/reachable, if we can align on meetings despite time zone differences, etc.)?

@dgkf , @AARON-CLARK , @emilliman5, @terrychr - Based on input provided to us in our mailing list survey for future community meeting topics, at least one person mentioned that ensuring GxP with Shiny apps would be useful. To shape it around our group's mission, we thought it would be helpful to discuss how folks have gauged packages' risk used for something like Shiny app submission to health authorities. We could potentially pull from the pilot teams for someone to come to speak as well. Let us know your thoughts on this and please provide any input about future topics you may like to see to kick off the year if not this one! Any input is appreciated :)
