Fingerprint not working and battery not lasting #19
Comments
In my mind, you have Canadian version of smartphone. So that you need to read some information in the XDA forum thread. |
I don't have the Canadian version of the smartphone (unless you tell me they're sold in France) and I have the same issue on the 20170730 build. |
@sultan2304 Mine is not Canadian neither, once I bought it in Portugal. But is new, so I guess it is a different hardware revision... |
no João we have the same hardware as everyone who on stock firmware had the
WW system

I've been discussing that on the forum thread, but people can not really
tell why. I think we would need a more details on the hardware differences
to understand the differences.

@r18duarte I really went through the whole forum discussion but still could not realize why it didn't work. |
I think there are 3 variants of our zf3 the CN (Canada), JP(Japan) and
WW(the rest of the world) and the different versions have different
hardware and software. you can check the differences in the Asus support
website

What do you mean by WW system?

@shakalaca could you provide any news on this? Any idea where the problem is? Any fix scheduled? Unless your ZE520KL is lasting more than 18h per charge? |
It seems that some energetic developer codename basenode took over the shakalaka efforts, since himself was lacking of time. He is trying to address this issue this week. We should give a try to his fork and help on debugging it: |
glad to hear someone can take over this project, I'm really sorry that I do not have spare time for this :( |
You can find it here: @shakalaca maybe you can give some startup tips on the compiling, debugging and best practice on the development overall. |
It looks like the fork has been deleted :( Any chance you will work on the battery and camera issues @shakalaca or should I get back to the Asus ROM ? :( |
Hi guys! Found out a way to DRAMATICALLY reduce the power usage. Posted the "why" and "how" at the shakalaka thread, since it is the ROM im currently using. Check it here: |
I tried installing your LineageOS distro three times, following the exact same procedure as @kiq1702 did on his phone (under his supervision).
Happened that the fingerprint did not work at all, and the battery was not lasting more than 18 hours, from which 10 hours in standby.... Really abnormal.
I can only infer that my phone is another revision, slightly different in hardware from the one most of you have. Maybe drivers issue.
How can we figure it out? Can anybody tell? How can I can get a detailed log of the hardware available so we can check that?
@shakalaca , which kernel are you using? There must be a newer version with the drivers for my hardware.
Thanks for you effort on that. Great work. Let me know if I can help on smt.
