I wanted to propose the idea of storing the history of maintainer requests in something like git (say in another repo, in the wiki, or alongside the source) so that in the future people could review the progress of open source maintainer trends with the git history. Maybe in a format that bots for other dev sites could potentially share.
Centralizing unmaintained projects for discussion, integration, and takeover, has been such a long standing issue. This work is incredible.
