Hard to select Start Race button using keyboard

I suggest making it easy (and logical) to figure out how to highlight the Start Race button using the keyboard.

I select Singleplayer and press enter.
Press enter to select a kart.
Press enter to select a game mode.
Press enter to select a track.
On the track screen by default the Start Race button is highlighted.

If I keep pressing down I cycle though the options but i never return to the Start Race button.
Pressing left and right and tab also does bring me to the Start Race button.

The only way i can seem to highlight the Start Race button is to first press up or down to get to the Back button.
Then Press Up.
Now Start Race is highlighted.
