I was trying to transform the source here to v3, but my knowledge is a bit limited to do so. I wonder if this plugin considered for v3 at some point in the future?

With a lot of free time and boredom - yes - eventually. Unfortunately, I have no idea when this will happen...
I am stuffed with work atm but hopefully will have some time at some point. I cant promise anything though...
