Note that this is now more than a hypothetical need: the Media WG publishes the WebCodecs Codec Registry and uses automated publication to /TR... which currently fails because Echidna rejects the DRY status.

I'm leaving that issue open because echidna is not yet able to handle CRY and CRYD.
