Disclaimer: This document describes a portal feature that is under development and not yet available.
Studies uploaded using the SCP Metadata convention must include the following required metadata:

| CellID | string | unique identifier for each cell in the study |
| biosample_id | string | unique identifier for each sample in the study |
| donor_id | string | unique identifier for each biosample donor in the study |
| species | ontology | ontology identifier from NCBItaxon |
| disease | ontology | ontology identifier from MONDO [if no disease, current accepted proxy for "no disease" is "MONDO_0000001" |
| library_preparation_protocol | ontology | ontology identifier from Experimental Factor ontology:RNA assay |
| sex | controlled list (enum) | one of ["male", "female", "mixed", "unknown"] |
| is_living | controlled list (enum) | one of ["yes", "no", "unknown"] |
| sample_type | controlled list (enum) | one of ["cell line", "organoid", "direct from donor - fresh", "direct from donor - frozen", "cultured primary cells"] |
